Welcome to my Creating Wellness blog. I look forward to posting here and seeing the feedback others have to offer. This week I will post on my experiences on the Journey of Relaxation Exercises.
Relaxation exercises are an important aspect in every persons life. I have been using them since roughly 2008 at the recommendation of a mental health professional. One technique that has given me the best results is to slowly count down from 10. After this step has been completed, I look around the room and count 10 objects that I see and describe them to myself. The object of this is to take your mind off the stressor you are dealing with. This effectively helped me deal with the stress of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after returning from my last deployment. I hope you all have the same great benefits as I did.
Unit 2- I like the technique you use. I am new to meditation and have trouble focusing. I sometimes think I am not in the right mental arena. I am not sure what I expect but I am not gaining much benefit from the attempts I have made. K
ReplyDeleteHi Caleb,
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting and simple example of how to relax and reduce stress. I do not know exactly why lately everybody is talking about stress, but it looks like the world entirely is stressed. We are living in an era of lack of time, and lack of peace; therefore, we have to take the necessary steps to calm down and prevent health consequences that a stressful life can lead us. Your blog looks very interesting, with your experience, I am sure we will learn a lot more about different interesting topics.
Good luck,
Yesica Gonzalez.
Hi Caleb,
ReplyDeleteFirst thanks for your time of service, and I am glad you found a remedy to help with the PTSD.
I was looking for your post on Unit3 wellness regarding reflection on physically, psychologically and spirituality?
Were you able to listen to the rainbow meditation?
